A settlement has been reached to resolve False Claims Act allegations against Tuomey Healthcare System.
The whistleblowers' share of the settlement will be $18.1 million.
The allegations arose from a lawsuit, which was filed in October 4, 2005 and claimed that Tuomey Healthcare System submitted false claims to the Medicare programs for services rendered to patients referred by employed physicians who were compensated based on the quantity or value of referrals the physicians made for outpatient procedures at Tuomey.
